Working on my Final Product!

I researched genetic counseling and looked at the specific roles that genetic counselors have in the healthcare community. I researched misconceptions associated with the role of genetic counselors and created a list of misconceptions and the actual job roles. I found a lot of misconceptions online in blogs and forums. I also researched effective ways to educate patients such as creative videos and guides or brochures. I was helping my mentor find a video for her presentation and I also learned a lot about cancer development and patient education. I learned what videos and material is engaging to the general audience and I learned how to create effective education tools for patients. I also got a really good overview of cancer and the role of genetics in cancer development. Today I continued to research an overview of cancer development and the role of genetics in cancer development. While researching I noted specific cancer that were discussed frequently and created a list of cancer I want to focus on for my final product. When my memories gets back I would like to check my list with and her and ask if there are other cancers I should include or one from my list that can be removed. Next week I want to come up with video ideas and begin the tangible portion.
