I worked on my video some more this week and I also did more research on cancer development. I focused on epigenetic and gene research this week and looked into how each cancer develops epigenetically. After our class zoom call I got the idea of creating an app. I think having a place that provides resources for cancer patients can be a very effective way to communicate information. However, I am not very sure how likely patients are to download the app for information. I looked into different ways to make an app and make it accessible but I still haven't decided if I want to go ahead and make the app or just stick to the handbook. If I do choose to make an app it will be a lot more work and I need to plan accordingly so I can complete it. Next week I need to start filtering information and decide how much content and detailed technical information to actually include. I want to prove the genetic information but I don’t want it to be overly technical that it is overwhelming. This is an important skill to develop in the medical field so it is important that I learn to communicate medical information in simpler terms.
